Desperate, Dean asks Cass to possess Sam too to wake him up, but as Castiel would need Sam's permission, Crowley offers to do it instead in exchange for his freedom and with no choice, Dean agrees and has Castiel remove Sam's anti-possession tattoo despite Gadreel's warnings. Abner (and then Gadreel) later use the term 'best friend'. When Dean gets desperate to find Castiel after learning that reapers are after him, Dean calls on Gadreel to help.
